I'd be interested to see which option you take and how it pans out.
Any administrator can effectively take ownership of the files (I agree there), however the problem exists when another administrator tries to change permissions thereafter for the group or user, since he/she is not the owner, they have to re-take ownership to change the permissions again.
Changing the owner to 'Administrators' includes ALL administrators, local and domain.
